| Smith & Fong Plyboo | ||
|
Founded in 1989 Smith & Fong dedicates their efforts to developing new uses and applications for bamboo. With imagination and technology, bamboo is being manufactured into flooring, paneling, and plywood. The base material for all products is “Plyboo” a term for laminated bamboo and a registered trademark of the Smith & Fong company. Fast growing and long lived Smith & Fong timber bamboo grows to a height of 40 feet with a diameter exceeding 6 inches and matures in 5-6 years. Bamboo is a grass and, unlike traditional hardwoods, does not require replanting when harvested. Mature bamboo has an extensive root system that continues to send up new shoots for decades. Their bamboo is grown in managed Chinese forests and harvested by hand, minimizing the impact on the local environment. Come see these unique, beautiful products on display in our showroom. |
